Course Information
Studying the BTEC National Extended Certificate in Sport is aimed at preparing learners for a career in sport and recreation. The content equips them with the knowledge, skills and understanding to progress in this industry. Sport and fitness careers are diverse and always moving and changing, making it essential for learners to have the drive and resilience to adapt. The BTEC course involves a combination of internally assessed units and externally examined units.The course is also designed to support progression to higher education when taken as part of a programme of study that includes other appropriate BTEC Nationals or A Levels.
Possible Career Paths
The course can be used as access to a university sports related degree (Sports & Exercise Science, Coaching, Sports Development. PE teaching), or it can provide a route straight into employment in the sports and fitness sector.
