George Spencer Academy are extremely proud of all of our students who have collected A level and Level 3 vocational results today and on making it through a challenging two years. These results are the first external assessments they have undertaken due to being unable to sit GCSEs in 2020 and they have certainly embodied the academy’s Ethos of Excellence. Over 40% of the grades obtained are A* and A grades and over 67% are A*-B grade which demonstrate the core value of a continued love of learning as many of our students have been at George Spencer Academy for the past seven years. The results received today demonstrate the students ongoing commitment to lifelong learning as they embark on university courses, apprenticeship programmes or employment. Of particular note are the numerous students who have gained entry into Oxford or Cambridge University to study the sciences or mathematics this academic year. It is a tremendous achievement, and we are very pleased for them.
Helen Corbett, Principal “Congratulations to our students who truly deserve the grades they have received today following their hard work and resilience over the past 2 years. We wish them the best of luck with the next stage of their journey and remind them that they will always be a part of the George Spencer Academy community.”
Finally, we must remember that all of the students who collected grades today are more than a grade. The resilience they have shown under such conditions is remarkable. They are all exceptional, inspiring and talented young people who we know will go on to great things and we are humbled to be a part of their journey.
