George Spencer Academy Admission Arrangements Consultation 2023/2024 Summary Statement

The DfE Admissions Code requires admission authorities to consult on their admission arrangements at least once every 7 years, even if there have been no changes during that period. The Code outlines who must be consulted.

The Spencer Academies Trust, of which George Spencer Academy is a part, is proposing some changes to admission criteria relating to Trust Schools and catchment as follows :

Current criteria

  1. Children who attend schools within the Spencer Academy Trust other than the Family of Schools under criterion 2: Glenbrook Primary School; Portland Spencer Academy, Sunnyside Spencer Academy, Wyndham Primary Academy and Inkersall Primary school, who are on roll of one of these schools at the closing date for applications
  2. Children eligible for the Service Premium
  3. All other applicants

To be replaced with the following proposed criteria:

  1. Children who attend Sunnyside Spencer Academy and were on roll at the closing date for applications.
  2. Children who live in the catchment area of Chetwynd Spencer Academy, Fairfield Spencer Academy or Bispham Drive School who are eligible for the service premium
  3. Other children who live in the catchment area of Chetwynd Spencer Academy, Fairfield Spencer Academy or Bispham Drive School
  4. All other applicants
