Dear Parents and Carers,
As we conclude this academic year my final message is one of pride and thanks. This academic year has seen our students rise to the challenge of ‘striving to be the best they can be’, while demonstrating their love of learning, supportive nature and great resilience. I am so proud of all our students.
Our students always have and always will be at the centre of our decision making and my reflection of thanks comes for the strong partnerships we have with you at home. Thank you for the support you have provided and the communications we have had this year that have helped steer our curriculum offer in ensuring we provide wrap around care for all students.
This year saw the launch of the weekly ‘Light Bulb’ Moment Awards with students being recognised and celebrated when they had a ‘light bulb moment’ and shone demonstrating our core values. As we continue to focus on providing an offer for the ‘whole child’, we will be growing our rewards system next year, alongside building further opportunities for us to recognise and celebrate our student’s talents. It is firmly rooted at George Spencer Academy that academic outcomes only go so far in building confident, well-rounded young adults and we have plans in place for how we will continue to develop this next year. We warmly invite all our parents to our Year Group Annual Information Evenings in September where we share all plans specific to your child’s year group and the stage of their learning journey. I will send a letter to parents and carers at the beginning of the Autumn Term detailing the dates and times of the Information Evenings. We hope you can join us.
On behalf of our staff, we wish you and your families an enjoyable, relaxing and peaceful summer.
Kindest regards.
