Netball National Finals 2020

Our Year 11 girls netball team went to Stanborough School, Welwyn Garden City on the 14th March where they represented East Midlands in the Netball National Finals. To play at that level was incredible and to be a state school competing against private schools with outstanding players who also compete in the Netball Superleague was something else.

We are so proud to say that our girls were a credit to themselves and George Spencer. They played tremendously and showed superb sportsmanship throughout, bouncing back after every game when it got tough.

There were 15 schools in total competing in our age group and we are delighted to say that we came 6th in the country and are the highest placed state school in the country!

Please give them a massive congratulations if you see them around school:

  • Ruth Grummitt (top goal scorer and captain)
  • Scarlett Watson (top goal scorer)
  • Amy Ridgley (V.Captain)
