Parent Governor

At George Spencer Academy we believe a strong partnership with our parents and local community is fundamental in achieving our ‘Ethos of Excellence’ and we strive to keep these links as strong as possible. Our local governing body provides a valued partnership at George Spencer Academy. We work collaboratively with our local governors as we all aim to achieve the best possible outcomes for all young people at the academy whilst also delivering real life chances that are ambitious and challenge our students to become the best versions of themselves.

We are looking to recruit two parent governors to join the local governing body at George Spencer Academy.

What are we looking for?

Our school Governing Body is made up of Governors from all walks of life and a range of different backgrounds, skills and experiences, but all are volunteers who work together for the benefit of the school.

We are currently looking for new Parent Governors and would be delighted to hear from anyone who has:

  • A willingness to listen and make informed judgements
  • The ability to work well with others
  • Time to spare
  • A child or children currently attending the school

If you match the above description, we would be delighted to hear from you. We want people from as many backgrounds and with as wide a range of interests as possible.

What can we offer?

  • The opportunity to work with a team of governors and staff in improving our school
  • A sense of achievement in making a difference to our school
  • The pleasure of helping students to reach their potential
