We are pleased to confirm our annual George Spencer Academy Sports Day will be returning to the Harvey Hadden Stadium on Tuesday 26th July. This is one of the highlights of the school calendar, with the whole Academy taking part in the day. For many, this will be the first time they have been involved in the event.
All students (spectators and competitors) will be dressed in their George Spencer PE kit with a t-shirt matching their allocated team colours if possible. Students need to bring a packed lunch on the day, any students who receive free school meals can order a sandwich bag and collect this from the lower site canteen before registering on the day.
Please ensure your child has sun cream with them and plenty of drinks for the afternoon in case of hot weather. Additionally, there is a tuck shop at the stadium; students should bring money with them if they wish to purchase refreshments.
We are arranging for all students to be transported to and from the stadium in coaches, and your child is expected to attend either as a competitor or spectator.
Parents will not be able to attend the event, but we will aim to keep you updated with Sports Day news on the school twitter account @george_spencer
To celebrate this summer’s Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, GSA are lacing up our trainers to take on the Sport Relief Lap of Hope at our Sports Day. We’ll be making Power Pledges for the world we want to see and wearing them with pride as we run rings around the important issues. However much you can spare, your donation will help tackle inequality, improve mental health and help young people to survive and thrive – whether they’re down the road or across the globe. Don’t forget to tick the Gift Aid option, if you can, so Comic Relief can claim an extra 25% from the government.
