Update in Response to the Latest Government Guidance

In light of the latest government guidance that was released yesterday afternoon regarding social distancing measures being implemented across the country, we have taken the decision to cancel up and coming non-essential events:

Key cancelled events as it stands are:

  • Year 11 Mock Interview Day today
  • Year 13 Progress Evening on Thursday 16 March
  • Parents’ Forum on Wednesday 25 March
  • Careers Fayre on Wednesday 1 April

Within the school we are also minimising large gatherings, for example, whole year group assemblies have been cancelled and internal events for whole year groups will not go ahead.

The government has issued clear guidance to schools should a child show signs of the coronavirus. The guidance explains we are to remove the child out of circulation and isolate them until a parent/carer collects them. We would like to assure you that we have planned for such circumstances and have arranged for suitable isolated offices to be used until the child is collected.

Thank you to those who have been informing us of absences. Please note that we are not able to provide health-related advice. We would ask that families carefully follow government and NHS guidelines and, if you are not sure how to apply these guidelines to your situation, that you make use of NHS 111 on-line. Could I also please ask for your patience at this time as we are receiving higher than usual numbers of telephone calls and emails and are responding to these as quickly as we can.

Our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused by the cancelation of events or temporay changes to our normal ways of working, we hope you will understand these decisions have been made with the safety and well-being of our students and staff at the forefront of our minds.
