Studying at Post-16 requires you to develop some specific study skills. It is important that you understand what they are and start to practise them before you start your courses in September.
The skills that you develop will enable you to achieve success at Post-16. They will also prove useful Post-18, whether you are intending to go to University, start an Apprenticeship or Employment.
The tasks are set out week by week and you will be required to complete all of the sessions before you start in September.
To complete each Weekly Task
Example Week 1
- Log onto Vimeo (link and password has been emailed)
- Watch the explanation of the Week 1 Task on Vimeo
- Now watch the student video for Week 1
- Now complete the tasks for Week 1 using the links below
Repeat the above for each weekly task

Week 12 Presenting with Confidence

Think about a person who inspires you…
- On a new piece of paper write the title ‘Independent Research’
- Find out information about your inspiring person. Detail the achievements, and what they mean to you personally. Write a short conclusion to summarise your reasoning.
- Plan a presentation about the person you have researched. This will be done in front of others. You can use pictures/PowerPoint etc. Give a 2 minute summary of what you have investigated (no more). You will be presenting this to your new tutor group.
